Risks of vegan diet
Knotek, Filip ; Chrpová, Diana (advisor) ; Pánek, Jan (referee)
Veganism, in the last few years more and more popular way of eating, is sometimes presented by non-academic articles as "the best" and without risks. However, compete omission of all animal products doesn't have to be as safe as it seems at first sight. The aim of this thesis is to find out what is the knowledge of vegans about the risks of fully vegan diet and also what are their eating habits to eliminate those risks. The theoretical part is mostly focused on risks related to deficiency of essential nutrients. The practical part was focused on research, that was made by anonymous quantitative survey method. The questionnaire was composed of sixteen questions oriented mostly towards knowledge of risks of vegan diet as well as towards eating habits of respondents. A total of 187 respondents met the criteria necessary to be included in the research. The results showed that 80,7 % of vegans know that there are some risks connected to vegan diet. Those respondents had quite good knowledge about the risks summarised in theoretical part of this thesis. Mostly they underestimated the risks of deficiency of omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin D and generally the risk of mineral's deficiency. The eating habits of most respondents often reflected their knowledge about the deficiencies in vegan diet - on average...
The concept of "Schuldenbremse" as an instrument against indebtedness in the Federal Republic of Germany
Říhová, Dominika ; Mlsna, Petr (advisor) ; Kunštát, Miroslav (referee)
As a result of the rapidly rising debt in recent years, the Federal Republic of Germany has decided to stop this unfavourable trend. The approval and acceptance of the so-called debt brake (Schuldenbremse) into the Basic Law in 2009 was also supported by the fact that the amount of public debt significantly exceeded the defined limit by the convergence criteria. With the financial crisis and the associated debt crisis within the eurozone, it turned out that the rules set out in the Stability and Growth Pact are being handled by a few states, and therefore some states have, due to their irresponsible fiscal policy, faced serious problems which are characterized by the inability to repay their obligations. Consequently, austerity measures had to be taken and at the same time, other EU countries have been invited to adjust their public finances to contribute to the consolidation of Economic and Monetary Union. As a result, debt brakes or other measures were then embedded in national legislation to prevent further crises. The German debt brake is a set of seven constitutional laws, where the main assumption is the annual setting of balanced budgets, or balanced income and expenditure, both at federal and state level, in order to prevent new further indebtedness. It was stipulated that the state budget...

The Causes of the Deterioration of Trade Relations Between the US and China During the Donald J. Trump Administration
Broda, David ; Hornát, Jan (advisor) ; Sehnálková, Jana (referee)
1 Abstract The thesis' main focus is Donald J. Trump's administration's trade policy towards People's Republic of China. Since taking office, Trump has been striving to turn the trade policy towards PRC into a more protectionist one. His argument is that China's economic prosperity is acquired through unfair trade practices, which damages the economy of USA. Since the beginning of 2018 up until the end of 2019, Trump imposed high tariffs on numerous Chinese goods and PRC does the same in return. The resulting tit-for-tat policies cause the deterioriation of the two countries' trade relations. The thesis searches for the main causes of Trump's trade policy towards PRC, which is in comparison with the two preceding presidential administratives more aggressive. The thesis' primary hypothesis assumes that the cause lies in the risk that the strengthening China poses on the US hegemonic role in the international order. The thesis confirms this hypothesis on the basis of the theory of relative gains, hegemonic stability and comparative advantage. The hypothesis is supported with examples concerning US economy, security, institutional power and legitimacy. 2 Title: The Causes of the Deterioration of Trade Relations Between the US and China During the Donald J. Trump Administration Author: David Broda
Micronutrients in home parenteral nutrition
Petříčková, Dagmar ; Meisnerová, Eva (advisor) ; Čapková, Radka (referee)
The topic of the diploma thesis is micronutrients at home parenteral nutrition. In the theoretical part, parenteral nutrition is analyzed, including advantages and disadvantages, indications and contraindications. Intestinal failure is described as the most basic indication for the introduction of long-term / home parenteral nutrition. Following is the characterization and classification of micronutrients and a description of the consequences of their deficiency or surplus. Micronutrients are particularly important as cofactors and coenzymes in enzymatic reactions that would not be possible without them. The key question is whether the plasma levels show the actual state of the stock of the micronutrient in the organism, if the drop in most of the micronutrients that we find in patients reflects the actual deficiency to be substituted, or whether this decrease is an expression of their shift to other segments, the severity of the health condition. In the practical part of the diploma thesis are evaluated the levels of selected micronutrients (vitamin D, vitamin B12, folic acid, iron) in the group of patients with indication of home parenteral nutrition. The evaluation was based on laboratory analysis of patients' results. Key words: Parenteral nutrition, micronutrients, deficiency, surplus
Nutrient deficiency in vegetarianism in children
ŠIMONÍK, Ondřej
The bachelor thesis deals with nutrient deficiencies in vegetarianism in children. This topic is becoming more and more important, because at present an ever increasing proportion eats in this manner. However, it is important to realize that this diet brings various risks in addition to all the effects that have a positive influence on organism. Especially during growth and evolution of young organism and groups of infants, young children and adolescents are threatened most. The objective of this bachelor thesis was to find out which nutrients are in deficiency in vegetarianism in children. There were two research questions formulated: "What nutrients are in deficiency in children, who eat a vegetarian diet?" and "What leads childern to eating a vegetarian diet?" The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of basic concepts such as vegetarianism and its distribution. It also deals with the risks and preferences of this manner of eating and the problem of the lack of macro and micro nutrients. The practical part was processed using qualitative reseach. The focus group was consisted of 4 children. It was necessary to obtain for the reseach fourteen-day diet records from the children and provide blood sample. Nutrients were found in the blood samples, i. e. the nutrients that are in deficiency, and the diet records were further calculated in the Nutriservis program. The results of the survey are presented in charts and in textual evalution. The reseach shows that in vegetarianism we can find some nutrients in deficiency in all of my respondents and there is a need to increase awareness of that issue.
The level of self-care patients after leg amputation
HONZÁRKOVÁ, Klára
This thesis deals with the issue of patients after the amputation of the lower limb. Loss of the lower limb means a great change for the patient, not only in understanding the integrity of one's own body, one's own health, but also from a functional point of view. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the latest available knowledge about lower limb amputation and postoperative care for patients with this diagnosis. It also deals with self-care, based on Dorotheus Orem's theory of self-care deficit. The aim of the work was to determine the level of self-care of patients after amputation of the lower limb using some aspects of D. E. Orem's model. To find out in what systems D.E. Orem's nurses support patients after the amputation of the lower limb in self-care and how to help nurses care for these patients. The research part of the thesis was realized through a qualitative research survey. The technique of data collection was a semi-structured interview with patients with amputation of the lower limb and nurses who provide nursing care for such ill persons. The theoretical basis for the interview was the DE Oremové model, which was complemented by the ADL (Activity Daily Living), IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living Scale) and the analogue range of pain in the group of respondents - patients. The data obtained were processed in the form of transcripts of the interviews, which are supplemented by evaluation of individual scales. The output of the diploma thesis is a set of recommended measures and a proposal of a comprehensive information material on the amputation of the lower limb for patients, which the nurses should be available to their departments.
